star Mission Statement
We respect each person as a child of God and welcome children in an atmosphere of God's love. We celebrate diversity and learn about various religions and cultures. Here at First Presbyterian Preschool we are committed to enhancing the educational opportunities for children, families, and the dedicated teachers who serve them. We provide developmentally appropriate programs and an environment that enriches children's development and celebrates the joy of childhood. We work with the agency of Children, Youth, and Families Department to strive and implement a quality-based program that will accommodate the needs in the greater Santa Fe area, as well as an economically diverse population.

 orangestar General Information
First Presbyterian Preschool is currently licensed through the State of New Mexico's Children, Youth and Families Department Prevention and Intervention Division of Child Care Services Bureau. We serve children ranging in age from 18 months and walking to 5 years. Children can be brought between the hours of 7:30 a.m and 8:30 a.m

Depending on availability, children can come from 2 to 5 days per week for half, three-quarters or full days:
7:30 a.m - 12:30 p.m
7:30 a.m - 3:00 p.m
7:30 a.m - 5:30 p.m

Our programs include a variety of intriguing activities that stimulate learning while remaining sensitive to each child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. A typical day includes free and guided play, individual and group activities such as conversation, art, music, creative movement, stories, theme based curriculum and social interactions. Children are grouped by age, and remain with that group throughout the school year. All staff are required to have educational training in early childhood and development courses as well as First Aid and CPR.

 purplestarParental Involvement
Parents are encouraged to be involved with their child by:
  • Helping with volunteer opportunities
  • Participating in fund raising that supports the scholarship program
  • Participating in special events, such as family picnics, parent-staff work days and open house presentations
  • Parenting seminars, group photo days
  • Keeping an open relationship with teachers to help the development of each child

greenstar Our Reputation
Our preschool program is known throughout the community for it's nurturing atmosphere, excellent teacher to child ratios, and smaller room capacities. Please stop by and pay us a visit to learn more about what we offer. We will be more than happy to assist you and welcome you with open arms to our circle of friends and families.

 orangestar Our Philosophy
We believe each child is a unique individual. We are sensitive to their social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. We provide developmentally appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning and help children enjoy successful experiences. A child's awareness of the world and the people in it emerges slowly, along with certain skills and abilities that complement understanding . We believe this fosters the growth of the whole child. We have a calm, nurturing, safe environment where the teachers provide eye-contact, positive communication, as well as praise and positive reinforcement.

We value people, the children in our care, their parents, and our teachers. We continually work to earn the trust placed in us. We strive each day to be the best, to grow, and to benefit the needs of our community all around us.
