This Sunday, May 20, the Rev. Dr. Harry Eberts III preaching “The High Note” from John 21:9-14:

- We celebrate Presbyterian Heritage Sunday with an appreciation of our longtime members. This Sunday has been set aside by the General Assembly of the PC(USA) as an annual day to celebrate, reflect upon, and learn more about the long and rich history of the Presbyterian movement in America. It falls on the Sunday closest to May 21, the date of the opening of the first General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America in 1789.

- David Ingalls begins the Opera Class in the Chapel with “Tosca” by Puccini.

- Habitat for Humanity Read-a-thon signup between services.

- A Congregational Meeting will take place after the 11 o’clock service for the purpose of electing Elders and Deacons to serve on the Nominating Committee.

- Youth Hike led by Pastor Harry and Susan Slotter leaves from the church at 12:30 p.m. Bring a sack lunch. Some additional snacks and drinks will be provided.

- Third Sunday Lunch will venture to Joe’s Dining after the 11 o’clock service.

- A Minute for Mission will highlight the Pentecost Offering, which will be received on both May 20 and May 27.

 

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for the Child Development Center playground this Thursday, May 24, starting at 5:30 p.m. in Pope Hall.

 

The TGIF Concert at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 25, features James  P. Rasmussen, organ, Bessie Rasmussen, soprano, and James L. Rasmussen, violin, performing music by Mozart.

 

Weekly FACT (FACilities Tidbit): Charlie Stringfellow, chair of the Facilities Committee, will introduce our new Facility Manager Bill Adrian in worship this Sunday. Please give Bill a warm FPCSF welcome.
