Opera Apprentices

During the summer, a performer from the Santa Fe Opera sings during worship. This collaboration with the opera began in 1957 when the Opera first opened. The fledgling Opera then sent principal singers to the services. As the Opera gained its international reputation, the church was treated with the young gifted singers from the Apprentice Artists Program. These handpicked young singers hail from the finest music schools in the world and diversify the music of our services with their unique backgrounds and outstanding musicianship. Many of the young voices the church heard as apprentices have gone on to fame and distinguished Opera careers. David Holloway, a voice professor from Chicago and Apprentice Program Director carefully selects an apprentice for each Sunday.
