Hot Water Hospitality Served Record Number Sunday, August 29
60 guests--that's right--60 guests showed up for showers, clothing, and food last Sunday at First! The word has spread that we are truly a place of hospitality. Please consider donating food for Sundays so that we can feed all who come through our doors. Food that is eaten up quickly includes: baked potatoes, casseroles, beans and rice, burritos, sandwiches, lasagna, spaghetti, soft fruit, hot dogs, hamburgers, and any other kind of meat. Bring your donations to the church kitchen any time before Sunday at 11 a.m. Thanks for your generous support thus far through these first four months!

● All of the codes for the church’s keypad locks (courthouse and Griffin Street doors and garage) changed Friday, August 27. If you haven’t received a call with the New Door Code and you need one, please call the church office at 982-8544. The garage code is a different code, so also call if you need a garage code. We will be changing the codes each year at the end of August to keep everything current.

A great big thanks to Gwen Anlian, Pat Copple, Nat Dean, Dave Grayson, Mary Anne Fowlkes, Alicia Kitzman, Nancy Lutz, Judy Merhar, Melanie Moore, Bobby Rugg, Etta Smith, Jane Stringfellow, and Jean Withers for their help making calls to the congregation and to Betty Kersting for her help in organizing the calling list.

● Due to Fiesta activities, parking Sunday, August 12 may be more challenging. LANB has again given us use of their garage. You can park from 7:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the garage behind the LANB branch on Griffin Street about 1 block north of the church. Tell the security guard you are going to the church and be sure to have your car out by 1 p.m.

On Vacation:  David will be out of the office until Wednesday, September 8, and Linda will be gone until Saturday, September 11.
